Discover Magazine

Erin’s image was used on table of contents page for the Spring 2012 edition of Discover magazine! I’m a huge fan of microscopy and of course the brilliant science behind the beautiful images. Her explanation:

The final product is the combination of twenty photographs through the nerve cord of a developing mouse embryo taken on a stereomicroscope. Each image is a different focal plane, so when you layer the images together, you can visualize all of the neurons growing out of that region in a single photograph.

Fine Art Photographs

A few friends and I started a co-op recently with a dual mission: first, to deliver unique and high-quality photographic art prints to a broad audience, and second, to support Best Friends Animal Society through our shareHalf program which donates 50% of print sale profits. Best Friends is an amazing organization with the core belief that you create a better world through kindness to animals. Their philosophy is kind of difficult to disagree with when you’re looking at an abandoned, abused puppy. Best Friends’ reach is global at this point and has been featured by the small upstart organization National Geographic. With them in mind, rather than hosting a dinner party and asking for checks, we thought we would create a company that is as dedicated to filling empty wall space as it is to supporting the community around it.

It’s my hope that Kinetic Lens attracts other photographers to join our ranks and give back to the world that’s been good to us.

If you have empty walls we would love to help fill them.

(Forgive my shameless self promotion)

I had good fun working with Emily on this lifestyle shoot. Rebecca Seedorf provided the styling, and Steph Nowotarski and Linda Misiura provided the excellent location.
